ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

For my entries today, I will share with you all about the hardest type of essay that is Argumentative Essay. But for Miss Zu, she will say that the argumentative essay is the EASIEST TYPE ESSAY. Thank you Miss Zu for that encouragement. Haha :D

For this type of essay, Miss Zu had asked us to do the Pattern 3. What if we do the other pattern? As usual, the mark will be deducted. Let me show to you all the pattern for number 3.

Introduction stating the thesis statement

Con 1, with topic sentence + Refutation

Pro 1, with topic sentence

Con 2, with topic sentence + Refutation

Pro 2, with topic sentence

Con 3, with topic sentence + Refutation

Pro 3, with topic sentence

Conclusion summarising the main ideas or restating the thesis statement 

What is the con? The con is the reasons opposing the topic. To start our writing for cons, we can use the transition signals such as 'some people say that..', 'those who disagree...' and 'opponents of this idea claim....' 

What is the refutation? It is the point to refute back the opponents. For this, we may use however, but and in contrast... 

What is the pro? The pro is the reasons supporting the topic. 'To begin with...', 'Another reason,...' and 'Finally,...'

Here, is the example of my essay. Maybe you all can use this as an example :)

“Women are becoming bolder as well as more aggressive and men are more sensitive”

Nowadays, women are more matured and their population are more than men. The increasing number of their population made them beat the men and they had monopolized the community. Although women are more than men, men have needed to maintain their character as gentlemen and the fact that they are more proficiency than women cannot be refute. 

To begin with, men are born to be a leader and they should be more decisive than women. Those who disagree said that, nowadays many women have capability than men and most of them had become a leader. However, men have more capability to be a leader and to lead the community. Men have their own capability in leadership and normally, it will end with the successful. For example, our former Prime Ministers are also men, who had already given lots of development in Malaysia. Hence, men should be a leader and more strict for our community to protect the women.

Another point, women are more sensitive than men. Those who assert said that men are touchier to the adverse impacts of lack of affection. Nonetheless, women are more sensitive only with a small thing and always find the point to be sulk. Orloff (2007) indicates that there have several studies said that women are more sensitive than men because they have been shown to be more hunch. Normally, women’s hearts are very fragile even to small negative comments. As example, when they are working, they will easy to be touching if they have been scolded by their boss. Thus, women are more sensitive and become trouble if they cannot control their emotion when confronting with other people.  

Finally, men are more aggressive than women. Some people may disagree with this idea; they said that women cannot control their emotion and always fuming. In contrast, men are more aggressive especially if the man is a hot temper person. Normally, men have more tendencies to be a hot temper when it comes to their loved one such as their family and their wife. For instance, when their wife was disturbed by the other men, they will fight with the men without think properly. Ashley (2007) proposes that women can control their emotion but the boys are more easily infuriated. As a result, men are more aggressive suit with their character as a man.

All in all, we cannot deny the fact that men are more aggressive and women are not becoming bolder because men are born to be a leader and women are more sensitive. In fact, men have to be a gentleman to be a good husband and father so that they can guide women very well.
